Are you still having trouble spending time with God. Here is part 2 to the "Help, I have never heard God before" series.  These 3 fundamentals will help you to experience the awesome joy of hearing the Lord speak.

1. Pray

Luke 18:1

The word Prayer, is sometimes translated "pray" in the New Testament simply means literally to "ask." It is the Greek word erotao and means to "ask," or "interrogate." If you have never prayed before, don’t worry we have all been at that beginning place. The first thing you should do is just simply talk or ask about the things that concern you. This will feel a little weird at first and you will wonder if he is even hearing you or if you are just wasting time, but stay focused.  There are several things in regards to our lives that need to be prayed for. For example, We can always pray for our health, family, church, spouses, children, and plenty other things that concern us. This will be your beginning point. You will not remain there long but it will teach you how to cast your cares and fears on him.

2. Meditate

Meditation can be defined as the act of thinking deeply or carefully about (something). As we begin to read the bible, we begin to understand the mind of God and how he feels about certain topics. However, prior to salvation we have been programmed to be a hater of God. In a biblical sense, Meditation is the process of renewing your mind so that you can become like God.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Meditation helps you to discover God's will for your life.

3. Communion

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. John 5:19-20

Communion can be defined as the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level. In a biblical sense, communion takes place in the emotions of the believers. As you commune, you begin to take on how God feels about you. You become one with your creator when this happens it manifests in your actions.

No matter where you are in your walk with the Lord. If you consistently develop these 3 fundamentals into spiritual strengths. You will find that God will speak to you quite frequently.

Share this with a new believer or someone you are discipling! So that they experience that POWERFUL moment of hearing God speak for the first time.
